When you use LinkForge to shorten a URL, we collect:

The original URL you submit
A hashed version of your IP address (SHA-256, not your actual IP)
Click analytics: country, device type, browser, and referrer for each click on your short link

We do not collect your name, email, or any personal account information. No signup is required.

How We Use Your Data

To create and resolve short links
To display click analytics (geographic, device, referrer data)
To enforce rate limits and prevent abuse
To detect and block malicious URLs

Cookies

LinkForge does not use cookies for tracking. We may use essential cookies for site functionality only.

Third-Party Services

Google AdSense — We display ads on our site. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your browsing history. You can opt out at Google Ad Settings.
Vercel — Our hosting provider. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
ipapi.co — Used for IP geolocation to determine the country of link clicks. Only hashed IPs are stored.

Data Retention

Short links and their analytics are stored indefinitely. We may delete inactive links (no clicks for 12+ months) without notice.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal information or require accounts, there is no personal data to delete. If you believe a link you created should be removed, contact us.
